Sumi is the Operations Coordinator at the Women’s Resource and Action Center (WRAC).  She previously earned her Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Iowa.  Through her position, Sumi provides operational support across all of the social justice initiatives implemented at WRAC, including the efforts to educate campus and community populations about sexual assault awareness and violence prevention methods, provide increased community accessibility to mental health services through counseling and direct advocacy, develop support spaces for women of colour to build community and empowerment, and provide a safe space for individuals of all identities needing assistance through experiences of distress and trauma.  In addition, Sumi is a certified Victim Counselor and provides trauma-informed, confidential advocacy services to individuals who have been impacted by violence and discrimination.  She is passionate about advocating for sexual assault survivors, mental health awareness, and reproductive justice.
