Support WRAC with a tax-deductible donation through the UI Foundation

WRAC provides groups, facilitator training, speaker events, individual counseling, community programming, IWIS, and other services with a small budget and the work of many volunteers. Each gift to WRAC is matched many times over by the work of student and community volunteers. All donations, big or small, are appreciated! Donations are tax-deductible.

Donations to the Women's Resource and Action Center Fund support current services and programs including Iowa N.E.W. Leadership. Donations to the Women's Resource and Action Center Endowment Fund help secure the financial future of the Center.

Happy Hour at WRAC!

November 6th, 4 – 6 PM

This week WRAC is hosting a double header Fun Friday, co-sponsored by the Human Rights Student Collective and the Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies Program. There will be something for everyone—sewing, zine-making, entertainment on the big TV, and pizza and drinks.

Like to sew? Come learn how to make reusable panty liners and diapers with WRAC and UISHR! We will be cutting, pinning, and sewing recycled t-shirts and other donated fabrics into feminine hygiene products and then sending them overseas and around the country to aid refugees in need.

We will be meeting at WRAC from 4:30-6:30 every Friday in November to sew, and sending the finished products over sometime in January.

Anyone/everyone is welcome, especially those with sewing experience! We are also still looking for donated goods to make the pads; the Human Rights Student Collective will have a table on the T. Anne Cleary Walkway for the entire first week of November where people can bring t-shirt donations and get more info about our event/other events going on during the month.

If you don’t want to sew or prep items for sewing, join students from the Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies Program to learn to make zines. Zines are small hand-made publications that are perfect for self-expression and exploring ideas. We will have all the supplies you will need to create and produce your own zine, and if you are interested, you can get some help in reproducing and distributing your zine as well.

Join us–family friendly, everyone welcome.  (And as always, the WRAC button machine will be here for you to use!)

Pizza will be provided!

Everyone Welcome!!
